On the first few days of our PBL, we filled out our PBL Proposal Form. We first started thinking about our driving question, which would be related to the main conflict of our book Turtles All The Way Down. The main conflict is that the main character, Aza Holmes, suffers from OCD and is paranoid of getting C. diff. We thought that a great question would be about how mental illnesses affect the lives of people. We decided that our final project would be a comic strip at first, because it was a very creative way to show the lives of people affected by mental illnesses. However, we could't find any great comic strip resources, so we decided to make an animation instead, which I thought was better than a "lifeless" comic strip. Some resources that would help us out for our PBL include talking to experts on mental health issues, online website articles and stories of people affected. We would record our daily progress on our Proposal Form, by researching different things and letting everyone in our class take a depression quiz.
