To start off, an introduction that hooks the reader makes a story interesting to read. There are many ways to start a story, like starting with a flashback, a conflict or even a quote, but it depends on the genre of the story. I usually like to start it off with a conflict, because it grabs the reader's attention with suspense and also introduces the main character/protagonist. Speaking of suspense, I think that an interesting story needs many suspenseful events. It gives the reader a feeling of foreshadowing, so he/she will stay focused on the story the whole time. I think the best narration for a story is first person. You get to experience what the protagonist is feeling inside and it gives you a better visualisation of what's going on in the story. The conflicts in the story should be noticeable and tense. I think that the best conflict is man vs. man, since with a clear antagonist, the story makes sense and many of the events that happen in the story are exciting to the reader. Finally, the story should end with a twist ending that puzzles/tricks the reader. This makes the reader get feelings of "Ah, I get it now!" because he/she didn't expect the story to end that way. Using all of these elements to write your story, you've become a master author.
